The 411 on C-Sections

Season 2 Episode 21

Apple Podcasts | Spotify

This week, motherhood and mental health expert Alyson Hempsey and pelvic floor physical therapist Dr. Marcy Crouch are talking about the history of C-Sections, medical reasons why you might need a C-Section, and the difference between VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean) and TOLAC (Trial of Labor after Cesarean). Did you know there was a difference?

In this episode, you’ll get an overview of what exactly a Cesarean Section (C-Section) is and how it is performed. There are several medical reasons why a C-Section might be necessary, but as you know, here on No Mama Left Behind, there is no judgment. If you WANT a C-Section, that is reason enough to have one.

Dr. Marcy discusses the risks associated with C-Sections, and also the benefits (the biggest one being that  it is literally a life-saving surgery). Dr. Marcy also shares her top recovery tips, and Alyson chats a little bit about the mental recovery post-cesarean.
